Last summer Laura & John booked me to photograph their wedding blessing in the Cotswolds near Stroud. It was held in the village hall garden over the road from their parents home on top of a hill. It was a perfect day with a little fluffy cloud sky, a gentle breeze and all of Laura & John’s family & friends attending.  Laura & her Mother arranged the flowers for the bouquet on the morning of the ceremony, Laura’s Mother arranging all of the other venue flowers, Laura’s Aunt & Uncle sang beautifully during the ceremony and everyone sang  and The Swahili song ‘Jambo Bwana’ which made me grin like a very griney thing.  In fact the morning after Laura & John’s blessing I woke up with jaw ache and couldn’t work out why till I realised I had been grinning half the day. It was a day filled with such family love, warmth and friendship and a complete joy.

The reception was held in the village hall  which was so full of colour, with super tasty food by Josie Cowgill of Live life to the full (a nutritional therapist from Stroud) and speeches that had me crying with laughter. Followed by the evening party at the bottom of Laura’s parents cottage garden in a Bedouin tent with music from John’s band ‘The Yarns’. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day.
