Fabien & Camellia’s Oxford wedding was beautiful and so full of colour. Fabien is French and Camellia is Malaysian with Chinese & Indian ancestry so there were people from all over the world on their wedding day and there was a wonderful mix of cultures & ethnicity. There were a few little touches that brought that blend into the day, such as Camellia’s Mother & Father coming to put on Camellia’s veil. This symbolises the parents showering the bride with all the love and blessings (as only parents can give) to embark on a journey as the man’s wife. The fresh flower petal confetti was made from flowers from Camellia’s Aunt’s garden. I always try and save something from the wedding day to put into the memory & USB box I send to all of my clients so I saved a pot and dry it to send to Camellia & Fabien. It was the most beautiful confetti, so full of colour and with a wonderful scent too.
After Fabien & Camellia’s wedding ceremony at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church in Oxford we spent some time around Lincoln College and the centre of Oxford taking some photographs of Camellia & Fabien. I love Lincoln College as a location as it has a little bit of everything. Gorgeous architecture dating back to 1427, a chapel, a library, gardens, some modern architecture as well where it has been extended and a wall covered in Virginia creeper which turns a gorgeous shade of red in the Autumn. I have shot there a few times and each time I find something new.
The wedding reception was at the De Vere Oxford Thames Hotel which is the most gorgeous place that also has a very long history to it and has links with the Knights Templar. It has the most gorgeous grounds and we were blessed with a stunning sunset at the perfect time and in the perfect direction. The staff of the De Vere Oxford Thames hotel were outstanding and bent over backwards to make sure Camellia and Fabien’s wedding reception went to plan and also to help me make sure I got all of the requested shots of the day too. I would thoroughly recommend it for anyone planning a wedding or reception in Oxford or for a weekend away.
Thank you Fabien & Camellia for booking me to shoot your wedding day, it was a complete joy.
