R&C’s wedding day was rather spectacular and VERY colourful. I seemed to have been attracting clients recently that have the most wonderful parties to celebrate their wedding days. Inviting all their friends and families to party with them. I love all kinds of weddings, from quiet intimate wedding days with the wedding couple and maybe a small handful of family members, all the way up to the big party celebrations. They are very different, but I still very much enjoy getting to know my clients and finding out what’s important to them before their special day.
We started out at Hort’s Townhouse just around the corner from Bristol Register Office. They have really beautifully designed rooms that are perfect for wedding prep, especially if you are getting married in the centre of Bristol. Once we were ready to go, all we needed to do was walk up to Bristol Register Office and crack on with the getting married part!
All of R&C’s friends and family were with them and as you might see from the photographs, colour was a top priority! After the ceremony everyone gathered outside for confetti. I absolutely recommend Flutter Darlings for confetti. They offer 40 biodegradable colours and they always look SO good in photographs. At Bristol Register Office you don’t get much time out front, it’s very busy and the sun can be very direct. So after the main confetti photos we went around the side and had another go. The most wonderful thing was that the wind caught the confetti and it flew up into the air and filled the sky!
We went on to Hort’s Townhouse for drinks and then while all of the guests travelled to The Orchard Coffee & Co, R&C and I went off around St. Nicholas Market (St.Nicks) for some photographs of the two of them together. I love shooting couple shots around that part of Bristol. There’s so much colour in the graffiti and shop fronts of the market.
Then we jumped in a taxi and arrived at The Orchard Co. for the wedding reception & party. There were many hugs and SO much colour. Hawaiian shirts and colourful prints were everywhere. The meal was a very tasty buffet, followed by speeches and the most wonderful looking cake. And then the evening entertainment was provided by Alma Latina. Dancing was a must! They were SO good and the perfect way to get everyone up and partying.
It was then time for me to go, but I heard that after I left the dancing and celebration continued well into the early hours.
