Jasmine & Alex’s extremely colourful and joyous wedding day was at the gorgeous Sezincote House in the Cotswolds. “Sezincote is unique. At the heart of a traditional, family-run estate covering 4,500 acres of rolling Cotswold countryside stands a 200-year-old Mogul Indian palace, set in a romantic landscape of temples, grottoes, waterfalls and canals reminiscent of the Taj Mahal.” It is one of the most stunning venues I have ever had the joy to work at and one I would love to work at again. I also want to add that the styling on the day was really something else!
I was there second shooting for the excellent Will Fuller Photography and I want to give him a big thank you for allowing me to share Jasmine & Alex’s Wedding. It was a one of a kind day and such a wonderful experience.
It started with Alex
I started the day covering Groom prep with Alex and his family at The White Hart in Moreton-in-Marsh, a lovely little pub set on the edge of the Cotswolds. Once he was ready, it was time to leave and I arrived at Sezincote in time to get a good look around the house and grounds before meeting Alex with his Groomsmen and Family. They made a grand entrance at the beginning of the long drive coming into the grounds. Alex drove in on a tuk tuk proceeded by two dhol drummers. Jasmine’s family were waiting to greet everyone with dancing and such a sense of joy.
And then it was the joining of two families
There was then a garland exchange where it felt very much like two family joining together and then the official ceremony in the orangery. A beautiful long building that curves gently and is filled with lush greenery.
And then there was so so much dancing
The drinks reception was on the lawn and I captured photographs of friends and family enjoying the delicious canapes that were on offer, while Will was capturing the family formal photographs in the grounds. After this it was time for the wedding breakfast and Jasmine & Alex were welcomed by the dhol drummers and cheers all around. This was followed by speeches and a first dance and then every joined in for what is probably the most energetic celebratory family dancing I have ever been witness too. I had the biggest grin on my face while I photographed everyone. It was incredible.
And then there were beautiful photographs
After a lot of dancing we took a break and had another chance to photograph Alex & Jasmine in the gorgeous grounds of Sezincote. Leaving them to return to the celebrations and dance away the rest of the evening.
My take home from the day
It was a truly amazing day and one that affirmed for me how how important it is to simply enjoy your wedding day. At the heart of it friends and family are what’s really important. Sezincote is a truly gorgeous venue and the styling and flowers were incredible. But it was the celebration and sense of joy that really made it a day to remember.
