‘The Globe at Hay on Wye’ has been hosting wedding receptions for some time, however Hannah & Gareth were the first couple to actually get married there in it’s current state. It is a gorgeous converted old Methodist Chapel that dates back to 1752 and still houses it’s original pulpit. It’s a little bit industrial with the scaffolding stairs, a little antique with the tables and chairs and decor and just rally really pretty. With cool staircases, hidden nooks and the most amazing window lighting I have ever seen.  The staff are wonderful too.
I was so very happy with Hannah & Gareth booked me to document their wedding day. I love Hay on Wye and I love books. I read a lot and have never managed to successfully convert to Kindle, there’s something about book shops and libraries that makes me feel totally at home. I’ve had jobs in book shops too,  so to shoot a wedding somewhere I love with 2 lovely people and be in the middle of the book shop capital of the UK made me very happy indeed.

Hannah & Gareth wedding & reception was at The Globe but they got ready separately just down the road from each other, so I was able to flip between the two of them. The Globe at Hay on Wye had been decorated beautifully with a vintage theme of tea-cups, flowers, books and photographs of authors. Hannah looked beautiful in her simply elegant wedding dress by Cathy Telle. The blue ribbon tied around her waist and the flowers in her hair completed her look wonderfully.  After the ceremony, a drink or two and the formal photographs, Hannah, Gareth & I popped into Hay on Wye for a few photographs of the two of them. We were totally spoilt for choice, however because time was limited we flitted between all of the locations we had planned in Hay on Wye pretty quickly. We also took some lovely photographs at The Globe. It really is a lovely location for a wedding. The catering was provided by The Globe and it was really very pretty and delicious. I would thoroughly recommend The Globe at Hay on Wye as a wedding location and would love to shoot there again.
